Parent & Family Trainings

Child Care Resource and Referral and Young Moms Connect invites parents to join us in LIFE PATH. Our goal is to give moms the opportunity to work on the everyday situations they face. Below are the area of LIFE’s PATH. We hope you will find them interesting and join us. While parents of any age are welcome to attend classes, thanks to a special grant from the NC Department of Public Health, parents ages 24 or younger can receive incentives for attendance, including gift cards to Babies R Us, Old Navy or Wilco Gas Stations.

Registration opens 3 weeks prior to the event date and closes 48 hours prior to the event date.

LifePathFood Bank Resources and Information:
January 12th & January 26th 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
Food Bank Event. Shauna Mitchell , Outreach Coordinator for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina will lead a training seminar about the services offered through the Food Bank.

Taco Zumba:
February 14th 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Creating healthy recipes for traditional meals and incorporating physical activity into your everyday life.

Money for Education:
February 21st 11 am - 12 pm
Understanding how to apply for financial aid for college. FASFA 101!

Parks, Walks and Fun!

Outdoor play with your child is an important part of development. Learn what activities are appropriate for your child!

Everyday housekeeping can be overwhelming! Come get awesome tips from our Professional Organizer, and relieve some of the stress in your life!

A local real estate professional will share the “In & Outs” home purchasing. Learn the importance of credit scores, how to choose a realtor, the laws in North Carolina regarding purchasing a home.

Supporting Positive Behavior

Understanding how behavior is a form of communication, and how to help your child with his or her expressions of emotions. Learn techniques to support behavior with your child.

Fun in the Sun & Water Play

Babysitter CO-OP
July 10th 4:00 to 5:00 pm.
Do you ever need a babysitter for errands, doctors appointments or “Date Night”? Come join our Babysitters CO-OP!

First Aid & CPR

This essential training will prepare you for emergencies before they happen.
