Incredible Years Research Study

Can you say YES to all of the following Questions?

  • Is your child between 2-8 years old with an autism spectrum disorder?
  • Are you at least 18 years old?
  • Do you live in Onslow, Pender, Jones or Carteret Counties?

If so, consider joining our research study!

What is the research study specifically?

We are evaluating the effectiveness of two programs in an effort to support families of children on the autism spectrum. Families will be randomly selected to participate in one of the programs. How does the research study work?

In order to participate, you will be asked to:

  • Attend a parenting group for 14 weeks
  • Complete a series of questionnaires on stress, coping, child behavior, and parenting practices
  • Questionnaires will be presented at the beginning and end of the program. Some parents will also be invited to complete a satisfaction questionnaire and participate in an interview regarding their program experience, as well as follow-up questionnaires.

Once you join the study, you will receive access to the parenting program free of charge. You will also receive free childcare, meals, and other supports. Individuals that complete the final set of questionnaires will also receive a $25 gift card to thank you for your time.
