Young Moms Connect

Young Moms Connect is a program of the Onslow County Partnership for Children that provides support and services to young pregnant and parenting women (ages 24 and younger) and works to improve community conditions for young families. Onslow County is committed to:
- increased educational success of young moms
- increased numbers of children who are free of abuse and neglect
- increased health of moms and children, including prenatal health
- increased awareness of the benefits of family planning.
PROGRAMS
Registration opens 3 weeks prior to the event and closes 48 hours before the event.
Mall Walking (Mommy Meet Up)
Wednesday, May 9th 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Join other young moms as we walk Jacksonville Mall
“Do I Want to Own My Own Home?”
Thursday, May 10th 10:00 am to 11:30 am
A local real estate professional will share the “In & Outs” home purchasing. Learn the importance of credit scores, how to choose a realtor, the laws in North Carolina regarding purchasing a home.
Farmer's Market (Mommy Meet Up)
Thursday, May 17th 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Join other young moms as we visit the Farmer's Market at 1108 Western Blvd, behind Dicks Sporting Goods.
Supporting Positive Behavior
Thursday, May 24th 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Understanding how behavior is a form of communication, and how to help your child with his or her expressions of emotions. Learn techniques to support behavior with your child.
Book Club - Safe Haven by Nicolas Sparks (Mommy Meet Up)
Friday, May 25th 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Share your thoughts on Nicholas Spark's book Sae Haven. Food will be provided and children are welcome.

Join other young moms with their strollers as we walk Jacksonville Mall and finish at Barnes and Noble for storytime.
Dr. Ginsburg - Parenting Workshop
Tuesday, June 12 from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
For Parents of Children of all ages. Learn about communication strategies that position parents to be unwavering positive forces in their children’s lives. This session is at Jacksonville Country Club and requires a reservation. Space is limited.
Fun in the Sun & Water Play
Thursday, June 14th 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Information about sun protection and water safety.
Farmer's Market (Mommy Meet Up)
