Two Onslow County Child Care Providers Recognized for Statewide Honor
Lisa Solt, owner and operator of Lisa's Child Care in Jacksonville received a special proclamation from Onslow County Commissioner, Delma Collins, on Monday, August 6.
Marie Farmer, owner and operator of Farmer Family Preschool in Richlands received a special proclamation from Onslow County Commissioner, Lionel Midgett, on Monday, Aug. 6.
Marie Farmer and Lisa Solt are recipients of the 2007 Professional Development Award issued jointly by the North Carolina Institute for Early Childhood Professional Development and Child Care Services Association. The award recognizes exemplary child care professionals who have demonstrated a commitment to professional development and education. Both Ms. Farmer and Ms. Solt were recognized by proclamation at the Onslow County Board of Commissioners meeting on Monday August 6th, 2007, at 7 p.m. Of the six winners statewide, Mrs. Farmer and Mrs. Solt are the only two Family Child Care Providers to be selected. Thanks goes to Frank Clifton and Martin Aragona , Jr for initiating this recognition and to the entire Board of Commissioners for taking time to recognize the contributions of these two individuals.
Additionally they were recognized by proclamation of the NC House of Representatives through Rep George Cleveland and by the NC Senate through Senator Harry Brown.
