Early Head Start
The Early Head Start program is a comprehensive child and family development program serving low income families. Services are available to infants and toddlers to age 36 months and prenatal services to pregnant women. The EHS program will provide early, continuous and intensive child centered activities to enhance the child’s physical, intellectual, social and emotional development. Through family support services, the program will seek to empower parents to fulfill their parental roles and move towards interdependence and self sufficiency. Services will be provided using the Parents as Teachers-Born to Learn curriculum in a home based setting. Each family will be assigned a Home Visitor who will provide weekly visits to the home for a minimum of 90 minutes per visit to assist parents to enhance their child’s development.
